About

Hi! I am Colleen

Welcome to GetFullFoodData

I’ve set out on a journey to truly understand the food I consume and how that impacts my overall well-being.

Early in my journey to healthy eating, I would often repeat internet searches like “what are the foods highest in fiber”, or “what foods are best for your brain health” or whatever was the top focus for me at the time. I might find one or two foods that I would then try to incorporate but would find myself later making the exact same searches. I felt like I wasn’t gaining the understanding I was hoping for to make it easy to know which foods are doing what for my health.

The first time I ever tracked my eating was the start of a new year when I tried Whole30 for the first time. It was challenging and I admit I made a couple minor mistakes, which according to some would disqualify me from officially completing it, but I gained a lot of knowledge and nutritional benefits through the process. As my husband watched me go all-in on this plan, he was concerned that I was not getting enough nutrition due to all that I was eliminating. I understood the concern and I was curious myself, so I started logging everything I ate and researching the basics like calories, fat, and protein. We were surprised to see that I was hitting the marks on those for what is generally recommended.

I became interested in gathering all of the data on my food intake so I could easily interpret my consumption. I have a background in data analysis and enjoy turning complicated data into an easy-to-understand format. My background in data and passion for nutrition has been the inspiration for this blog.

I hope my journey inspires you in your own journey to healthy eating!
